Den nyligen Sverige-aktuella Sturgill Simpson tog hem två utmärkelser under årets Americana Awards i Nashville, som ägde rum häromdagen. Simpson, som 2014 utsågs till Emerging Artist, tilldelades priset som årets artist och hans låt Turtles all the way down utsågs till årets låt.
Enskede-systrarna First Aid Kit var liksom Sverigebekantingen Doug Seegers nominerade till priset Emerging Artist – nykomling ungefär. Men priset gick i stället till Austin-killen Shakey Graves medan Lucinda Williams prisades för årets skiva med Down where the spirit meets the bone.
